In my many romps through the numerous amounts of used books stores here I bought a copy of Sir John Lubbock's "The Use of Life." This book is not only used, it's 124 years old... can ya dig it? This is my bedside reading... hehe. I love old stuff. Anyway, here's the quote I read this morning... and it just settled so well with me...
"To one man the world is barren, dull and superficial;
To another rich, interesting and full of meaning.
Happiness is a thing to be practised, like the violin.
If we take the right means, it will come
But we must not seek it too curiously
Our greatest joy,... if Orpheus-like,...
We turn to look at her
Fly pleasure and they will follow you"

Here's what I say; Attitude is a choice, happiness is a choice, peacefulness is a choice, don't look for them, just be Open, Willing and Honest, and they'll find you....
OWAHA! (sorry inside joke)

I also bought myself a copy of Thomas Paine's "The Age of Reason." It's not as old a copy only 1902.
