Visit to Jerry's Grandma in Darlington, England

Unfortunately, Jerry's Grandma had a very mild stoke last week and was extremely anemic so she was in the hospital and we went down to see her in Darlington, she just recently moved up there from Coventry and is living with her sister Pat now. Anyway, she seemed very lively and just like her normal self other than she gets tired very easily. We stayed Saturday night at Auntie Pat's house and went back to visit again Sunday before we left.
England really does feel different from Scotland, the houses look different people are nicer it's funny, Darlington isn't even as far away from Edinburgh as KC is from STL... but you really can see the different cultures, not to mention the northeast English accent...
Darlington is famous as the home of the first locomotive, "Locomotion" was constructed at the Forth Banks, Newcastle works of Robert Stephenson & co. A total of four were built at a price of £600 each. The world famous engine "Locomotion No. 1" hauled the first train on the opening day of the Stockton and Darlington Railway on September 27th 1825.
